I am in the midst of a personal conflict. It is between the individualistic, artistic expression of my soul verses the practicalities of conventional thinking and everyday life.

In the past, trauma was typically dealt with in silence. At least that’s how my family lived. In today’s world, we talk about things. We discuss trauma. We use conversation as a tool for growth and healing. At least that’s how I choose to live with my nuclear family.

Monday is the beginning of a new work week which provides me with the opportunity to be patient and compassionate towards all beings, myself included.

Everyone has a narrative all their own. Their life is a continuous stream of where they’ve been and where they hope to be. All have trauma, both personally experienced and inherited. There are no exceptions. Respect the story of all people. They’ve lived it and only they truly know it.

Is there a core self that exists throughout one’s life, or are we a collection of diverse temporary self-like properties emerging within each moment, in a constant state of flux?
