What is the purpose of science, technology and religion? To make a dangerous and unpredictable world a fabricated, more clear one, so it is safe for human utilization and consumption. Opaciphobia is the driving force of these human creations. Opaciphobia is inherent in the human condition.
We fear the unclear at such a profound level that we don’t even realize the fear is there. One must embrace Opaciphobia and accept the world and ourselves will always be unclear in isolation. One must embrace hierophany and allow the sacred to shine through truly connecting us to ourselves, each other and the world around us.
Perceiving the world through the mind of the ultimate source, the sacred, truly makes the world and ourselves clear. One must abandon one’s total reliance upon science, technology and religion to perceive the world, first hand and without human reason, as it truly is. And what does it mean to perceive the world as it truly is? The one truth of impermanence.
Viewing the world and ourselves as impermanent, we see through the vail of maya (Hinduism) and are unattached to Samsara (Buddhism). This one truth that can not be denied is the truth of impermanence. Living and breathing impermanence in our day to day life is true freedom. This is the view from which I choose to perceive my world and myself.
