A mind that lacks compassion is imprisoned. Compassion liberates us from the chains of relativism that isolate and bind us to ourselves. When trapped by relativistic thinking, one can only see winners and losers. One cannot see what is truly there. And what is there is a suffering human being who needs compassion. This is the one uniting variable that transcends all cultural and religious differences. It is through compassion that we open our hearts to the reality that ,”just like me all others aspire to happiness and wish to avoid suffering”. Is there any other principal that unites all people more effectively than that? Please let me know if there is. I am open to your ideas.
