________
My difficulty accessing inner resources is a problem that causes me a great deal of distress. It is a subtle issue that I alone must cope with. My mind plays hide and seek with itself. Thoughts surface then disappear with much frustration. Meditation has helped me with this problem but it still happens more than I’d like. With meditation, I am becoming more familiar with my mind. I may forget something but will recall it more quickly by remaining mindful, patient and through the exercise of self compassion. This is particularly helpful in my social and professional interactions. If you can’t relate to this, be glad. You are fortunate and please don’t take this skill for granted. If you can relate, hopefully reading this will help you feel better knowing you are not the only one. This, after all, is one of the main reasons I write. To connect on a deeper level with others by being honest about my inner experiences.
You are certainly not alone in seeking mindfulness/self awareness. You, however, are fortunate in seeking to know, learn, relate. Not everyone has this gift, which is also a burden. Keep writing. It offers insight and stability. Sometimes, even comfort.
Fine line between gift and burden. Thanks for the encouragement.
