I stand at the nexus between the beginning and end of life. I experience both from this center point and realize how lucky I am to view these very different places within the lifecycle on a daily basis. Those at the beginning of life are energetic and optimistic. This is contrasted with those close to the end whom many are exhausted and without hope. At one end there are those with limitless possibilities. On the other, are those unfortunate souls close to the end that may be filled with deep feelings of regret. What shall I learn from this special time and place in my life? What wisdom will develop within me as a result of seeing life from such an incredible vantage point?
Powerful observation today in no. 48. I too look at this point in our life as looking out over a precipice.
Deciding where to focus my energy and beliefs.

Hi Paul,
This is so very true in life. I have lived so far through the very young, the young, the middle age and now the perspective age. I think about many things regarding life and time passing and my parents.
I’m guessing that since you work with the aged you have a clearer perspective of the old and of course your children, the very young.

Thanks Mom for your comment. Yes I see it everyday where I work. It can be quite sad really. The residents are just kind of existing rather than living a satisfying life. Then at the opposite end, coming home to the little ones, is completely different. So much energy and life in their faces. I’m thankful to be in such a position in my life. I feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be for right now. Thanks again for reading and for the comment!!
As my mother, your grandmother used to say ”You have to live to
get old”.
