Humanity has an incredible capacity to replicate reality and create fictional universes by means of imagination, knowledge and technology. Video games, TV and movies are evidence of this. However, the real challenge is not to be able to recreate reality or imagine and create other realities. The real challenge is in the ability to imagine the human heart of another as like that of our own. To imagine the other as just like me with desires for happiness and the wish to avoid suffering. And once this is imagined, one realizes that one doesn’t have to imagine it. It is not imagination, rather it is quite possibly, the most important reality there is. This is where humanity must place its focus and resources. Not in creating greater TV resolution or faster internet connections for real time gaming. Create a clearer picture of the human heart and it’s capacity for compassion and kindness. See the humanity before you despite the perceived differences. Find common ground. My heart is yours and yours is mine.
